134_Pfaffendorfer Höhe
CONCEPT & IDEA
We have been commissioned by the BImA to further develop the existing buildings in the Pfaffendorfer Höhe neighbourhood in Koblenz. The project comprises the serial vertical extension and refurbishment of 47 buildings, as well as additional new-build developments for densification, including 10 residential buildings and 2 parking decks. In our role as general planner, we are working closely with blrm ArchitektInnen, Assmann Beraten + Planen, rabe landschaften and hhpberlin. The aim is to transform the neighbourhood and create around 310 additional homes to provide much-needed affordable housing.
SUSTAINABILITY
The planning approach focuses on resource-efficient construction methods with a high degree of prefabrication and a clear emphasis on serial timber construction. By combining the preservation of the existing building stock with vertical extensions and efficient densification, land consumption is minimised while promoting a sustainable and future-oriented neighbourhood development.
