114_Administration building Hessenpark
CONCEPT & IDEA
The design envisions the administration building as a single-story structure that appears like a piece of elevated landscape. On its west side, the rectangular structure frames the newly emerging forecourt of the Hessenpark entrance. It is deliberately restrained, but clearly represents a new, modern addition to the ensemble. In its single-story design and façade color, it refers to the base structure of the existing entrance building. The building does not appear exaggerated or dominant, but sufficiently present. The volume seems to emerge from the
Green space of the existing plot and lifted. The green area remains on the roof of the new building and thus blends into the landscaped background according to the motto: "discreet, present".
The construction follows the principle of "simple building", where attention is paid to simple, natural, film-free and therefore cost-effective constructions. The building components are stacked in such a way that elaborate joints are avoided. In the interior, the load-bearing structure becomes a space-creating shelf structure. The exterior walls are built in timber frame construction with straw bale insulation and clay plaster.
