081_Modulbau - Auf dem Rode
CONCEPT & IDEA
The city of Lippstadt proposed a competition for a small section of their new urban planning “Auf dem Rode”. With strong emphasis on sustainable design, the goal is to plan a maximum of 15 residential units to be built with parking area in them in order to completely free the common spaces.
Our proposal takes the sustainable design concept and pushes beyond the demands to propose energy efficient modular wooden houses which are almost entirely factory built to maximize the quality of the construction while minimizing the on-site common mistakes that lead to inefficiencies and future problems. Moreover, the external garage is dispensed with in order to increase the green spaces surrounding the buildings.
Urbanisticaly, the individual houses are arranged in relation to each other in such a way that there is a gap between them and the buildings opposite on the street side. This enables an even more generous amount of open space for the individual buildings. Furthermore, where possible, semi-detached houses are designed to maximize the spacing between the buildings and the surrounding garden areas.
